Arriving soon to give us 11m of static head to the roof apex of our new house will be this lovely 29KL Stainless Steel Water Tank ($6.5K worth). Nick Ritar of Milkwood Permaculture first showed us this concept a couple of years back & then we found a local up at Rochester making them (http://www.designertanks.com.au/). They are more expensive than PE, however will not photo-degrade or taint the flavour of the water. This first one is for non-potable water supply so the latter doesn't matter, however longevity is very important to us. We'll be mounting another on a 4-5m high stand about 80m from the house for potable water.

Stones (perhaps in dust storms) and birds? Glass tubes are more breakable than flat plates. Or it might be to stop the snow load from sliding off the roof in winter hahahahahahahahah

What a lovely family! Zane and Pearl, you're growing like salix! Isaebella and Lisa, the belles of Bendigo. Congrats on the new venture, I know it'll be wildly successful!

I tell folks I can no longer look at a open rural landscape topography without also judging as to the total systems water management capabilities concerning both irrigation and drying (as one is as valuable as the other). As a longtime producer, I know this is where the dollars lay lying on the ground - I just need to show people the simple methods to pick them up.

Why? I can understand intensity, not necessarily frequency. The ecosystem is full of fire-adaptive species. I don't know what's introduced or what's native, but several pics show grasses that could stand freshening.

P.A. Yeomans old Property via Orange NSW AU
I've been wanting to get one of these Yeomans Tritters for years now and this landholder has two sitting there laying languid. I asked the owner's daughter if he used them and she said 'no' and then would he sell them and got the same answer....I can't reconcile such a waste of such a great piece of very versatile equipment

I remember seeing one of these in action, must be 30 years ago now. From memory the owners of most of the land which is now "Clifton Grove" were making them or import them ! Its too long ago i dont remember the details, But I do remember how loud it was and you have No idea ! good luck .
