For the first time ever, I spent two and a half days out with my camera last week and took virtually NO plant photos! Instead, it was wings, wings and more wings. And, of course, I have a new obsession…. I arrived at Allen Acres a few miles south of…

New series. Not sure how many in this series. However many it takes to exorcise my compulsion to shoot tower cranes, maybe. :-p This is number four.

This is "sock it to the eye" color! And the slightly feathery look of those petals? Paintbrush it is and well named. Beautiful, +Susan Hamrick. Thanks for sharing with #wildflowerwednesday.

Black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta)

What says "summer" better? Not much I say! This gorgeous number was at #CampHardtner in central Louisiana back in May. But before you question my designation of May as "summer," please know that it was in the high 80s that day!

And tomorrow is #wildflowerwednesday. What wildflowers says "summer" best to you? Share it with us tomorrow and be sure to tag me, +Bette Kauffman. I might not get to curating right way, as I am getting ready to take a bunch of my "creation photography" to participate in a workshop in northeast Arkansas. But I'll get to the photos you share eventually. So never mind the heat and rain, of which we in Louisiana are having plenty, and get out there with your camera!
