Ole Miss v. Texas Game Day Activities!

The Department of Geology and Geological Engineering invites students, family members, staff, faculty, alumni, and students to the Department’s tent for Saturday’s game day activities: “Ole Miss vs. Texas.”

Special events this week:

First, Dr. Holt has already started the BBQ and will have brisket served by around 2pm on Saturday.

Second, from about 2-3pm Adjunct Professor Dennis Powers will be looking to meet with students of Engr 691, Sec, 46, “Sedimentology of Shale and Mudrocks” for their initial course meeting.

Next, from 3-4pm, Mr. Stuart Coleman an alumnus now working as a Petroleum Engineer with Chevron has agreed to meet with current students interested in the petroleum industry or in graduate studies. Stuart is one of our graduates (B.S.G.E. 2008) who later completed a graduate degree in some state between Louisiana and New Mexico). This is a chance to learn from one of our former students who has blazed an interesting and rewarding path.

From 2pm to about 7:30pm we welcome all to come enjoy some fantastic BBQ. Be warned, however, that more than one Texan will be at our tent from time to time. It could get interesting, but is sure to be fun!
