Reel Seafood opened in June 2013 by Greensboro locals, Steven Stern and Drew Lacklen. What has been created at Reel Seafood Grill is incomparable to any other seafood restaurant in the Greensboro area.

The atmosphere at Reel Seafood Grill is casual, but relaxed. Whether you prefer to dine inside, or outside on the beautiful, 30 seat patio, your experience is sure to be as low key as you desire. We also offer take out so you can enjoy Reel Seafood in the comfort of your own home.

Reel Seafood Grill offers a unique blackboard menu that changes regularly, serving up unconventional items (salmon BLT, anyone?) using only the finest local ingredients. We offer more seafood species than any other seafood restaurant in Greensboro, both farm-raised and wild-caught, and every menu item is prepared fresh to order.

With a deeply knowledgeable staff and unique twists on old favorites, you are sure to find something that excites and satisfies your taste buds.

We do not close for snow. Call ahead after 2 p.m. to reserve a spot here, same day.

I keep getting told by friends to check this place out. I finally gave in and went. My wife and I went on a Wednesday night. We were only the 2nd table in the restaurant seated. When I looked through the menu one thing stood out. They really need to get some organization to the menu. They are trying to do too much. Some entrees come with 2 sides, some with 3 but you don't find that out until you order. We ordered an appetizer and then our entrees. The crab dip was good, a nice start to the meal. We both had salads and it took a long time for them to come out. When they did come out they were room temperature. Salads should be cold, especially since they used chilled bowls to serve them. The dressings were homemade and were really good. Definitely the best part of the salad. Then another waiting game to get the entrees. Another downside of their menu was no descriptions on the preparation. I ordered shrimp and grits and was unaware that it was served with mushrooms. I usually try never to send anything back but unfortunately this one had to be redone. Once corrected it was good. My wife had the blackened salmon and it was good. Warning, if you like your salmon medium you will have to specify. It came out well done but was not dry. Overall it was ok. The service was SLOW. Really slow. Annoying slow. The food was good, not great. I will probably go back but I will not be in a hurry to do so. On a side note, rolls/hush puppies are a side. It seem cheap to use bread as a side. It should be included. If you are going to charge $20-$30 an entree don't nickel and dime me for bread.

Reel staring serving Brunch on Sundays today, and we stopped by to try it out, and actually ended up being the first to be served at their first brunch, kinda cool. As always here, the service is efficient and friendly. The menu includes some nice salad choices, several Omelet options, both Salmon Cake & Crab Cake Benedict plates, Scrambled Eggs & House Cured Salmon, Shrimp & Grits, Waffles (includes those with Fried Catfish or Fried Shrimp), Quiche, and even Steamed Shellfish. Sides include Grilled Potatoes, Fresh Fruit, Grits, Bacon, English Muffin, Bagel, and Toast. The Mushroom, Spinach, Tomato, Onions, & Cheddar Cheese Omelet ($10.95) had excellent flavor, though the omelet was slightly overcooked. The Scrambled Eggs and House Cured Salmon ($8.98) was also very, very nice - the eggs perfectly scrambled, and loaded with very tasty cured salmon. Both of these dishes included Grilled Potatoes (basically Home Fries) and fresh fruit. The portions were much more than adequate. The Waffle with Fried Catfish ($11.95) was an interesting take on the Chicken & Waffle craze, and very well done. The waffle was excellent, and the catfish perfectly fried, and the two worked in combination better than many will think.

Was a little skeptical about restaurant after reading a review on Yelp about someone saying they were dissatisfied with how a meal was cooked, but still wanted to try the restaurant out. I give this restaurant five stars, I would give six if I could. This restaurant went above and beyond any expectation I had. The service was great, everyone was very informative about the food. The restaurant is not a traditional restaurant, its one of a kind. The inside is very calming and relaxed, you have a menu listing everything they serve, which was kind of interesting, because it is different. We ordered our food and was extremely happy with how the food turned out. I cannot remember the last time I had a steak without having to cut off gristle and accidentally biting into a part. The steak I ordered was amazing! There was not a part of the steak I didn't want to eat. The potato and side salad I ordered with the meal tasted great. This is important, because it wasn't just a potato, it tasted good! Without even asking I could tell the food was fresh and very high quality. The portion size was perfect as well! After our delicious meal we ordered desert, which was awesome! The chocolate peanut butter was amazingly delicious! Would recommend this restaurant to everyone to try. This restaurant is a one of a kind: the setup, the location, the atmosphere, the staff, everything!

We have experienced multiple visits. We like it, we return. Salmon cakes are excellent. Really liked the shrimp and grits entree preparation. Lemon basil vinegarette is homemade and uniquely excellent.
