We are excited to be partnering with Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society for the Community College Completion Corps to encourage students to complete their degrees. Next week, we host workshops where students can attend degree auditing workshops and sign the pledge for completion. Students who take the C4 initiative will receive special access to College Fish, a transfer tool usually only available to Phi Theta Kappa Members.

The MxCC Foundation welcomed scholarship winners to its annual meeting on October 22, bringing students together with the donors who have generously contributed to their education. In 2015, the Foundation raised nearly $60,000 in scholarships which were awarded to 74 students from throughout Connecticut who have begun or are continuing their studies at Middlesex Community College this year.

Today Middlesex Community College and the City of Middletown officially proclaimed the week of October 25 as SPEAK Week. SPEAK (Students Promoting Equality, Acceptance, and Knowledge) Club members chose this week in October because it is National Bullying Awareness Month and LGBTIQA+ History Month. Middletown Councilwoman Deborah Kleckowski made the proclamation this afternoon at a ceremony at Middlesex Community College.

I attended this school as late as 2008. This school is of terrible quality. With few outliers, the teaching staff I encountered was "bottom of the barrel". My 'veteran' math teacher, spoke English as a second language! I did poorly at this school, and yet, I had never been a poor performing student in the past. Thankfully, I finished my degree elsewhere with a much higher GPA. I would describe myself as creative & a self starter.
