In the last three days there have been two 911 calls about snake bites. One I know was a rattlesnake. Luckily that man had gloves on so only one fang just barely nicked his finger. I don't know about the other one.

Those of you living in an area where it's warm enough and you are cleaning up debris, don't pick it up with your hands. Use a rake or something else.

They have rattlesnake warning signs all over Southern California.

Even the big dog parks, like Waddles Garden Park etc in Hollywood (in the base of the Hollywood Hills), have snake signs.

I might faint if I laid my eyes on a rattler, though generally I LIKE snakes.....
I'm not especially afraid of snakes, but I certainly don't want to be in an enclosed space with them.
The nice thing is if you make noise they slither away. If you startle a rattlesnake it will strike! Normally they will give you the distinctive rattle before striking. Just don’t chase them or let your dogs “sniff” them!
