Cities have a huge role to play in the fight against climate change, and earlier this month Boulder became the 17th U.S. city to pledge to get 100% of its electricity from renewables. Will LA be next?
On September 1st, the city of Boulder, Colorado joined a growing number of US cities in pledging to source 100% of its electricity from…

The solar revolution isn't just about fighting climate change - it's about building a new clean energy economy that benefits everybody. "Solar For All," a new report by the Southern Environmental Law Center, looks at ways utiltiies can help increase solar access for lower-income communities: http://blog.ucsusa.org/john-rogers/solar-for-all-how-utilities-can-increase-access-to-solar-energy
A new report looks at what utilities can do to “bring solar within reach” for a broader swath of U.S. households, particularly in lower-income areas and communities of color. The answer: a lot. SELC-PSE-SCACED Solar for All report Solar for All is a product of the Southern Environmental Law ...

Yesterday afternoon the California State Assembly voted to continue leading the way on climate change by passing SB32, which requires a reduction of greenhouse emissions to 40% below 1990 levels by 2030. It's great news, and we're prouder than ever to call California home!
SACRAMENTO — The Assembly approved sweeping climate-change legislation Tuesday that extends the state’s targets for reducing greenhouse gases from 2020 to 2030 in a controversial bill that saw White House officials and Gov. Jerry Brown privately urging lawmakers for support. The bill would piggyback on AB32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, which calls for California to reduce greenhouse gases to 1990 levels by 2020. [...] ...

Congratulations to the Solar Impulse team on making history with their solar-fueled circumnavigation! In their words the flight "proved that clean technologies can really achieve the impossible," and down here on the ground we're more inspired than ever to achieve our dream of 100% clean energy for all.
We have now just watched our shared dream unveil, becoming a reality. It’s with great emotion that I write this last blog to report on the Round-the-World solar flights. Emotions, tears, relief, exhilaration is what we are all feeling right now after completing the first Round-the-World solar flight in history. Bertrand Piccard made one last smooth landing, kissing the warm tarmac with his solar airplane after a 48 hour and 37 minute flight in...

Solar power and public transit are a match made in green heaven - and it's happening right in our backyard! Awesome to see SF Muni and Urban Solar teaming up to install solar-powered LED lights at bus stops in San Francisco:
