(C) MUST READ - "Kruse's book investigates how the idea of America as a Christian nation was promoted in the 1930s and '40s when industrialists and business lobbies, chafing against the government regulations of the New Deal, recruited and funded conservative clergy to preach faith, freedom and free enterprise. He says this conflation of Christianity and capitalism moved to center stage in the '50s under Eisenhower's watch.
'According to the conventional narrative, the Soviet Union discovered the bomb and the United States rediscovered God,' Kruse says. 'In order to push back against the atheistic communism of the Soviet Union, Americans re-embraced a religious identity. That plays a small role here, but ... there's actually a longer arc. That Cold War consensus actually helps to paper over a couple decades of internal political struggles in the United States. If you look at the architects of this language ... the state power that they're worried most about is not the Soviet regime in Moscow, but rather the New Deal and Fair Deal administrations in Washington, D.C.'
Kevin Kruse's book looks at how industrialists in the '30s and '40s recruited clergy to preach free enterprise. And under the Eisenhower administration, Christianity and capitalism moved center stage.

Yeah, and I don't have a problem with "In God we trust", because the vast majority of America identifies with Christian, Jewish, and Muslim faiths, all of which identify with the God of Abraham...majority rules, and all that; without abridging or persecuting people who fall outside that box, with acceptance and tolerance by the majority of the various other faiths and the acceptance of the majority by the minority that everyone has the right to worship as they may.  Go back all the way to the Mayflower Compact to find that basis for the freedom of religion in America...

+Rayyan Memon Yeah, but if you look at most of the people...well all of the people on Faux News, they all look like they are high on something. Megyn Kelly's eyes should not be open that wide!

(C) This is the best article that I've seen on the topic - please read!
The new state law has been publicly sold with the claim that it is “nothing new,” but shows every sign of having been carefully designed to put new obstacles in the path of equality.

(C) "An Indiana judge on Monday sentenced a 33-year-old woman, Purvi Patel, to 20 years in prison on charges of feticide and neglect of a dependent.

Patel is the first woman in Indiana to be convicted under the state’s feticide law. Activists say the case highlights the way that prosecutors across the U.S. are increasingly using laws designed to protect expecting mothers to criminalize women for terminating a pregnancy or allegedly harming an unborn child."

(J) Proving you can't keep a good lie down, a 'doctor' and business owner took a death panel case to the Supreme Court, and the results were amazing.

(S) This is happening in that lovely state of Indiana.
The case is a disturbing example of overly broad laws that essentially criminalize pregnancy.

The UN Human Rights team should be sent to Indiana for an investigation of this situation.

Introduction
Being Liberal - what does it mean to YOU? PROUD to say I'M A LIBERAL! ? - SHARE this page with your friends. We MUST bring back the PRIDE of wearing the LIBERAL badge! The word 'LIBERAL' was stolen from us... Let's reclaim it !

BEING LIBERAL is over a Million fans strong community on Facebook,  (http://facebook.com/beingliberal.org) help us to grow on Google+

"Liberals got women the right to vote. Liberals got African-Americans the right to vote. Liberals created Social Security and lifted millions of elderly people out of poverty. Liberals ended segregation. Liberals passed the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act. Liberals created Medicare. Liberals passed the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act. What did Conservatives do? They opposed them on every one of those things...every one! So when you try to hurl that label at my feet, 'Liberal,' as if it were something to be ashamed of, something dirty, something to run away from, it won't work, Senator, because I will pick up that label and I will wear it as a badge of honor.'
