A very funny video by the +NASA Curiosity team staring "the mohawk guy" :))) It seems they plan to stay in the public spotlight for longer than "7 minutes" :D

+SpaceX, now we are expecting you guys to answer to this provocation by making your own funny music video!!!

This is really unexpected - but awesome - news! I am a huge fan of integrated UX and Ubuntu is following that trail.

I find it puzzling how people still manage to stick with Windows - the usability cannot even be compared...

See the new Ubuntu Web Apps integration feature in action at Introducing Ubuntu Web Apps - it will be coming to Ubuntu 12.10 soon and an Ubuntu 12.04 PPA will also be available soon too.

Ok, now I am really impressed by this new Ubuntu For Android feature!

I am still not sure how useful it will be in real life - it is probably going to require some change of habits to maximize the potential. I woner what happens when you connect it to a computer that already runs Ubuntu. Some sort of "sync" would be awesome...

Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world, played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes at a Metro station in Washington, D.C. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before, Joshua Bell sold-out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100 each to sit and listen to him play the same music. But, once put in a different environment, the beautiful music he was creating went almost unnoticed.

It's a very disappointing result of the +Washington Post sociological experiment, one that gives a grim view of today's lifestyle and predefined standards for public taste.

I hope some of you will start turning on your sleeping senses while walking through the life - hear a bird singing on a tree, feel the captivating scent coming from the local baker's or feel the tickling of a cool winter breeze on your cheeks...

Hvala ti unaprijed,

Miroslav

I had no idea there were so many astronomical clock around Europe! So far I have only managed to visit the one in Prague - guess I'll have to add few more destinations to my "Places to Visit" list ;)

Keeping the time of the heavens has never looked more lovely: astronomical clocks in Europe: http://www.kuriositas.com/2011/09/astronomical-clocks-literally-and.html
The term astronomical clock is one that is used fairly loosely. Effectively any clock that shows astronomical information – as well as the time – can be so classified. They can show the location of th...

I would add one more:
20 points if the idea was developed from a very obscure Nikola Tesla's invention that the government doesn't want us to know about.

Guilty until proven innocent. That is the new law for the Internet, powered by big record companies. We don't need SOPA - things are this bad already!

I wonder when did the USA become the de-facto "owner" of the Internet, one entity to impose its laws to everyone else? That date should be an international Day of Mourning.

MSL and Curiosit ond the launch pad, T minus 13 minutes and weather seems fine - now is the good time to turn the NASA TV on!
Alasdair Allan originally shared:

Watching the run up to the launch of the Mars Science Laboratory and the Curiosity Rover live from the Cape, currently scheduled for 15:02UT, on +NASA TV. Are you? We are 1 hour and 30 minutes from lift off. We are currently red on weather, but this was expected and the weather is forecast to on and off during the count down. With the long launch window today confidence is high for a successful lift off.

Introduction
I'm a long-time student of Astrophysics inching towards a Master's Degree. And I'm still a big astronomy fanboy :)
My main topics are Extrasolar planets and Planet Formation, but I often drift into Star Formation and even History of Astronomy. And it seems I might be taking a dive into the Experimental Cosmology soon...

I'm also interested in Photography, Digital Art, Web and Graphic Design. I currently work as a web developer.

Using Ubuntu since before it was cool (and several other distros before Ubuntu) and a passionate Open Source evangelist.

I love to cook - my home ground is Mediterranean with a Balkan influence, but I regularly make Chinese, Thai or Indian dishes and fusion is often inevitable.

In my free time I like doing sports - mountain biking (XC) almost the whole year round and skiing (mostly freestyle) whenever possible.
