It would give far greater granular control to us about which posts appear in our stream.
I already see people trying to do this by posting "Let me know if you want to be in my circle X".
For example, as a stream consumer, I may want to follow a celeb's brainy tech posts, but couldn't care less about their personal "I'm walking down the street now" posts. By adding a celeb's "techie" content circle to one of my circles (as opposed to the whole person as I have to do now) I would only receive their techie posts. Purrrfect!
As a post writer, I often don't know who are interested in the different types of posts I create. I write personal posts, car racing posts and techie posts. I would love to send posts only to the people that are interested in that type of content. With content circles a person could select which types post from me show up their stream. Again Purrfect!
Even more perfect... someone who likes car racing and techie stuff, could add my car racing content circle to their motorsports circle, and add my techie content circle to their fav techies circle.
If circles is about better sharing, lets get some power in them there circles!!! Power to the people through circles.
