The burger patty was good and flavorful. Thin and dry, which some like, but it wasn't for me. The rest of the burger was not up to the pattys standards. Fries are tasty and crisp. Very good. The tea is strong and the service was excellent. They talked up the burger like it's the best in town. Meh. Doesn't do it for me.

Burger was sloppy and cold. For the price I expected a great burger, got the opposite... fries were good though
Response from the owner - 3 weeks ago
So sorry to hear about your poor experience, we make everything to order and so everything should always be hot. We apologize about the cold burger and would like to make this right, please contact us at

Had the Mahiburger, friend had the Mahi tacos, and another had the burger, all were very dry and overcooked.
Response from the owner - 5 months ago
Hi Jax, So sorry about your experience. We definitely don't want to serve dry, overcooked burgers. The Mahi is wild-caught, and the ground beef for the burgers is local, pasture-raised Wagyu beef from Peeler Farms in Floresville,, but of course overcooking ruins the high quality meat. We apologize it was overcooked and would like to make it right, please contact us at

I tried this restaurant years ago, and I decided to try it again so that I could review it and fulfill my never-ending burger cravings at the same time. One negative is they did completely forget about my shake while the restaurant wasn't at all busy (I believe just 1 order was taken in the time between my order being taken and my food arriving). On this trip, I ordered my usual "Classic" burger (just mayo, lettuce, and cheese/cheddar; my consistent benchmark for comparing burgers). As far as the meat, it's a thin, griddle-cooked patty, which I like. The meat is very delicious and high quality as it comes from a local farm of angus-wagyu grass-fed cattle; in fact, it tastes even fresher than the meat from The Cove. It was seasoned really well but could have used a touch more pepper. The rest of the burger components seemed a bit dull/lacking in some way in comparison to this meat. However, the burger and all it's components were very, very fresh. The bun was a nice size however it did slightly compete with my ingredients although the buttered insides were a very nice and flavorful touch. The lettuce was sparse and in huge chunks that just fell out of the burger, which made the entire burger slide more than it should. The mayo was lacking in quantity, and as such, the burger missed that added richness mayo brings to food. The cheese was just a plain, solitary slice of American cheese that wasn't fully melted, and thus melded, into the burger; I could have ordered cheddar, which I discovered when doing this review. I thought the price was fair for this burger if for no other reason than the quality of the beef alone. When I compared this burger to a few dozen other burger restaurant I visited, it did fairly well in my score. However, I'm not sure this is the place to order the diner-style type of burger I usually crave; rather, it seems to be more of a gourmet burger restaurant where you pack on the toppings. In short, the freshness of the burger overall is apparent, and the beef is pretty much about the highest quality beef sold around the San Antonio area. My top 7 remain: 1) Bobby J's, 2) Cullum's Attaboy, 3) Chris Madrid's, 4) Fatty's (Mark's Outing), 5) CBQ Eatery, 6) The Cove, and 7) Chester's

HI Jeff, First of all, so sorry for your poor experience! We do use American cheese in our original cheeseburgers, but you can also add cheddar, jack cheese, or fresh Parmesan if you prefer one of those cheeses. We use organic leaf lettuce, organic sliced tomato and organic onion for the burgers. . . since we make everything to order, feel free to ask for extra lettuce, or extra mayo, etc. If it was too bland for you, you may like the 3 Amigos Burger with serrano peppers, chipotle mayo and jalapenos and queso, or the La Bomba Burger with bacon and a fried egg, or you could add our hand-made serrano ketchup to any burger. Again we apologize for your disappointing experience and the missing shake!! Would like to make this right, please contact us at

I use to work for these guys and although it ranks as one of the worst places I've ever worked at, their burgers are incredible delicious. With that said i will try to keep my bias out of the review and with a side note the last time i ate at an Orderup was about 5 years ago (so this review might be worthless but I'm trying to do more reviews). The chipotle mayo is still one of the best sauces I've ever had, using it as a dip for the fries is a great choice. The burgers are great, try choosing something exotic like the bean burger, you might be surprised on how well it tastes. personally I'm not a fan of the pizzas and the tacos were too expensive to like, especially since my family is Mexican and the tacos we make just don't compare in both taste and price. The problem is a lot of restaurants just make better food. if you want a great taco go to Tink-a-tako, if you want a pizza go to Trilogy pizza, if you want a burger go to Smashburger. if your family is undecided then maybe eating here would be a nice choice. price is pretty expensive but the burgers can be worth it. overall it is average with the exception of some of the burgers, the price is pretty expensive, the service and time can be good or bad.

Not the best burger joint around, but if you're in the area, it could be worse. They recently (okay, maybe a year or so ago) swapped the really solid veggie burger for a portabello, which was a downgrade.
