SOS Children's Villages Canada's posts

Happy Mother's Day. SOS mothers care and support children living in SOS Children's Villages. From Mauritania to Mexcio, we simply couldn't do the amazing work we do without our SOS mothers. These women dedicate their lives to giving vulnerable children the futures they deserve.

This is a shout out to all the SOS Mothers and all the mothers who are raising our next generation!

SOS Children’s Villages is on the ground helping the children of Ecuador that have been affected by Saturday's 7.8 magnitude earthquake in the north central coastal region.
SOS Esmeraldas, SOS Portoviejo, and SOS Guayaquil remain intact and safe as there is no damage to the SOS Villages. However, because they are close to destruction SOS is being called upon to assist the greater community by providing care of unaccompanied and separated children, water, food and personal hygiene items as well as medical care. Today is Pink Day in Canada, a day to wear pink and support anti-bullying. SOS Children's Villages know that bullying has a negative impact on everyone involved; the target, the bully and the bystanders. Today at SOS, we are wearing pink!

Today is World Health Day; a time to reflect and act to ensure that the poorest and most vulnerable have the opportunity to lead healthy lives. SOS Children's Villages has over 76 medical facilities world wide and performs almost 1 million preventative and life saving treatments per year. We provide treatments for not only for the children in our care but for children and their parents within the communities that we work. Our goal is to ensure that parents and communities stay strong so that their children have the opportunity to lead healthy and productive lives. http://ow.ly/i/igKzO http://ow.ly/i/igKEP http://ow.ly/i/igKIW http://ow.ly/i/igKS8
