Just do not understand people and why they would want to take this wonderful animal off the face of this Earth, I do know why they do it, just don't understand the way they think.

Complete trust in us, allows them to turn their backs on us and graze in complete contentment. What sick mind decides to shoot this beautiful creature and hack its horn off ?

Full moon in the Waterberg...where rhino poaching has been rampant....and a time at which we are all a little on edge. So beautiful and yet so ominous.

The lion bone problem is escalating. This is a 4 week old orphaned cub now being raised by dedicated and exceptional people, but he will never roam free. He has captured my heart.....but nearly broken it as well.

This young bull elephant refused to allow us to cross the one and only river crossing open to us...this following heavy rains. He enjoyed a lengthy meal, a couple of baths, but flat refused to allow us onto HIS bridge.

We have to try hard, no matter what it takes, we all can't be on the front lines, but what ever we can do we will do.

"Hubert the Lion was haughty and vain and mightily proud of his elegant mane"...

SPOTS - Strategic Protection Of Threatened Species
Introduction
Passionate about wildlife conservation - the protection of any and all threatened species. I am just so privileged, so fortunate, to be "living my dream" - to each day know that I have, in some way, contributed to even just one more of our wild creatures, running free. How lucky can one man be ?
Bragging rights
I tend to live life to the full...sometimes a little too close to the edge, so it is a major achievement for me to have reached my 50's. My nickname, to many, is "duggaboy" - one of those old buffalo that all the cows have rejected !
