In this 12 minute podcast debate Sebastian and I argue about the idea of quotas to promote diversity. While this is not a female leadership issue per se, it is definitely often discussed in the context of gender diversity. I would love to get some feedback on the debate from this group because the issue is a controversial one and neither Sebastian nor I came to a crystal clear resolution...

Hi everyone,
I'm glad to be part of this group. I'm a 40yr old German and live with my family in Frankfurt, Germany. My entire career has been in large tech companies and dedicated to developer relations. I'm a hobby climber, passionate part-time student (currently pursuing my 3rd degree - psychology) and avid podcaster. I've been in business management and people management roles for about 8 years and love thinking about ways to empower people beyond traditional hierarchical structures.

My friend Sebastian and I are both managing teams. Yet we recently had a formal debate on the question if successful organizations actually do need managers... It's 12 minutes and hopefully relevant to this group and worth your time. I'd especially love to hear your take on it. What would you say is the most relevant contribution of managers that are necessary for organizational success?

Travel to Mars is clearly an inspiring idea but should we really go there? That is what my friend Sebastian and I recently debated in our debating podcast and I think that may be interesting to the group here as well... (Also I'd love to hear your expert take on it, what is the most compelling argument in your book?)

When organizations try to promote diversity and equality they often use quotas as a means to level the playing field. But is that actually helpful? Sebastian and I debated this very motion "Quotas promote diversity". What do you think?

Anyone interested in providing some pre-launch feedback to our new podcast "2debate" (we plan launch for Jan 5th)? It is a short form format (15-20 min) in which my friend Sebastian and I debate a motion in a compact Oxford style debate. Our first episode will be "Is it worth going to Mars?"
Here is the audio: https://goo.gl/85xWfP
I'm looking for feedback on format, intro, outro and general style.
Oh, and if you're generous with your feedback, then it would be extra-cool if you head over to http://2debate.net and tell us what you think about our artwork too... :-) Thanks a lot!

QQ: In the wake of my next podcast project I wonder what the best place for an online community would be. Since it will be a debating podcast it is just natural that people may want to continue the discussion.
Any opinion how to best facilitate that? I thought of (i) a g+community/facebook group (ii) comment section in the podcast blog (could also be an embedded fb/g+ discussion stream) or (iii) last not least a subreddit... What would you pick and why?
