Dairy farm sizes have changed a lot over the past 40 years. But I think the dairy cows are happier now! #FarmsMatter

Okay, so now G+ isn't showing posts in "most recent" order anymore. Any thoughts on how to go back to that display?

In 1908, my great-grandmother got a dairy cow to keep in her backyard so her growing family would have fresh milk every day. Follow along with me for the next few weeks as I take a look at how things have changed since then.

You can't walk to your neighbor's to get fresh milk anymore. But food safety techniques has made the way we get milk now so much safer than it was then! #FarmsMatter

Mouse and rat poison can be very dangerous to your pets, too! If you think your dog or cat has eaten some mouse or rat poison, call your veterinarian immediately - even if they aren't showing any signs of a problem.

Breastfeeding is supposed to be so easy and natural... it didn't quite work out that way for me and Baby Doc...

Oh yeah, on the cringing.  I didn't have supply issues - I had pain issues.  Reynaud's or something like that.  It was HORRIBLE!

Fighting the battles, one morning at a time
Introduction
I am a large animal veterinarian, cow farmer, social media consultant, not-a-morning-person. Every morning, I fight the good fight to stay in a warm bed with a cuddly cat.

I grew up in suburban New Jersey, and first came to Indiana for a residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine at Purdue University. I met a handsome southern Indiana farmer at Purdue, and the rest is history! I married my veterinarian/farmer in 2009, and now we live on a cattle farm where we raise registered Angus.
