I love making complicated info not so complicated and helping readers live their best life. I’ve written about everything from spa treatments to women’s heart disease to the latest trends in DNA.
My first book, Airbrushed Nation: The Lure & Loathing of Women's Magazines (Seal Press) came out in 2012.
Look for my work on the grocery store magazine rack in places like Reader’s Digest, Prevention, Arthritis Today, Women’s Health, Parents, Cooking Light, Fitness, Ladies’ Home Journal, Redbook and Woman’s Day.
My newspaper articles appear in the Chicago Tribune, the Washington Post, the Christian Science Monitor, Parade, USA Today and USA Weekend.
I also love to write (and talk) about the writing process and have written pieces for Writer's Market (Writer's Digest Books), The Writer and Writer's Digest.
I speak and present workshops and panels at writing and women's conferences around the country.
Dogs are another passion and my pet stories are published in Dog Fancy, Dog World, Healthy Pet, Your Dog and The AKC Family Dog magazine, where stories are often inspired by my staff--Murphy & Misha.
