Could anyone refer me a book on parallel computing for beginners. I want to learn parallel computing but do not know where to start. I have read some basic introductions and articles on some sites but I prefer books. thank you.

The Black Cat Analogy
(version 2)

Philosophy is like being in a dark room and looking for a black cat.

Metaphysics is like being in a dark room and looking for a black cat that isn't there.

Theology is like being in a dark room and looking for a black cat that isn't there and shouting, "I've found it!"

Science is like being in a dark room and looking for a black cat using a flashlight.
