Jackie Cain joined WTAE Channel 4 Action News in April 2013 as the Weekend Morning Anchor and Reporter. Cain grew up in Elizabeth and is a proud graduate of West Virginia University’s P. I. Reed School of Journalism where she graduated with honors, was the main anchor of WVU NEWS, was awarded the “Most Promising Journalist Award” and placed twice in the national William Randolph Hearst Journalism Competition. She attended WVU on a four-year Dance scholarship with the university’s dance company, Orchesis, and earned a minor in Theater & Dance.
Cain's television news career started as an intern at WTAE. She started working as a reporter for WTOV in Steubenville, Ohio, before graduating from college, but was quickly promoted to anchor the weekly evening newscasts. Her reporting took her 900 feet below the surface into a coal mine, 26,000 feet into the air with the Ohio National Guard and even to the sidelines of NFL games.
Continuing her career in her hometown of Pittsburgh has always been her goal and she couldn’t be happier to be back in the WTAE newsroom!
