" October’s Feature: Gregory Gage
Greg Gage is a frequent performer at The Open Door and this month he’s our featured act. We have enjoyed his bluesy style, creative guitar rifts, distinctive vocals, not to mention his beautiful guitars. Here’s a little background on Greg: A sometime political and environmental activist and occasional carpenter, Gregory Gage has traveled most of this country and lived in quite a few states, having finally settled in 1995 in Henniker NH with his wife Nicole. Now the proud father of 3 school-aged children (Garrison, Josiah & Aida), he’s a data-technician by day, and enjoys playing guitar, songwriting, brewing beer and raising chickens in the few rare moments between work and kids. Greg balances his eternal optimism, with songs about troubled times, murder and love gone awry. Musically he’s found himself at home with a longstanding love of bluegrass music, a good country blues, a well crafted country song, or with the common-man themes found in American folk music. Come out to The Open Door on Friday, 10/7, and hear for yourself what all the buzz is about. ♪♪ "
