What router does each of you use.  The reviews I've read are inconsistent.  My current router isn't dual band and I've been thinking about upgrading.  Or should I wait until I have a use for ac.  Since I have assigned quite a few static addresses and some port forwarding, it will be lots of work to change.

My 2013 Nexus 7 keeps sounding notification alerts, but nothing shows up in the notification bar.  How do I track down what app is giving notification alerts?  The best I've been able to do so far is to check the  general settings and the settings in apps as I use them.

My Feb. data usage hit 292GB.  Comcast's cap is 300GB.  The Comcast agent said if I upgraded to the next level, it would bump the cap to 350GB.  I checked the Comcast site and it said I still had the 300GB cap, but my download speed is naow 50Mbps.  It seems that option is only available in select markets and mine is not one of them.  Is there a way to monitor the usage to see what the main culprit is?  I have had a Netflix account for nearly 5 years , but I haven't come near the limit before last month.  I do hove a college student living with us.  I'd like to see what's going on before I make any accusations.  How can I monitor the internet traffic?

I resurrected an old Laptop running Vista, bought a Netgear hub on eBay for $25 .  I put the hub between the modem and the router and now I'm collecting data with Wireshark.  Now all I have to do is to learn what to do with all that data I can collect.

If I set up a mesh network, do I disable the router's WiFi or do I end up with two WiFi networks or is the mesh network just a repeater or ???

I would like to set up an account on my Nexus 7 for my wife who is computer illiterate and has no desire to learn.  She only uses the Kindle app on my tablet.  My account is password protected and that's the first stumbling block for her.  I would like her account to not require a password, but still be able to use my Kindle library.  The kindle app is the only app she would be interested in using.   I have both the 2013 and the 2012 tablets.  If I do a factory reset on the older one and set it up with my gmail address, would my sensitive data be accessible without a password, even though I haven't loaded my sensitive data onto that tablet? Or could I set up a new gmail address for her and still use my Amazon log in for the Kindle app?  BTW, she is 75 years old and I am 78, so be kind.

You could also consider selling the 2012 tab and getting her a kindle.
