Churchgoers think they deserve the special privilege of not having to pay to park as everyone else does. That alone makes the free Sunday parking for churches an unacceptable practice. Never mind that they clog up main thoroughfares by parking in the middle of the streets - at no cost to them, but if a neighborhood wants to block off a street for safety purposes while doing maintenance the city won't do, they have to pay thousands for a permit.

So, "pay to pray?" Hell yes. If others have to "pay to shop for groceries to eat", or "pay to clean their own streets", churchgoers can be expected to pay for their selfish indulgences.

But I do support free parking for any person or organization doing charity work, but ONLY when they're actually doing the work.

(And props to Reverend Barry Lynn, for being reasonable and realistic on this issue!)

Death Penalty Focus is very proud of our Justice Advocate Franky Carrillo, "a totally innocent man," who spend almost 20 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, and is now going to college and telling his story, grateful that "prison didn't destroy my soul."

Komen's new VP is aggressively anti-choice. Running for Governor of Georgia, Karen Handel was endorsed by Sarah Palin and wrote that she "do[es] not support the mission of Planned Parenthood."

Former Senator John Briggs worked hard, with his son Ron, and his son-in-law, to give California the death penalty we have now. Now, the Briggs family has endorsed SAFE California to replace that death penalty. They have learned that the system was a terrible mistake and they are now working to overturn the "fiscal monster" they created.
In 1977, my dad, former state Sen. John Briggs, my brother-in-law and I got together to discuss California's death penalty. We agreed it was ineffective and decided a ballot initiative was needed to e...
