Tips to do Parsvottanasana :

-- Inhale to step the right foot back and turn it out 45 degrees by keeping both legs straight.
-- Exhale to settle the feet into the earth & inhale to spread the toes to help activate the legs.
-- Square the hips by moving the left hip back and right hip forward. Exhale and make the legs longer by rooting down through bones.
-- Inhale to lift the chest; on an exhalation, elongate the spine forward. Place the hands on the floor to either side of the left leg. Rest the forehead on shin.
-- Hold for several deep breaths, maintaining the extension in spine.
-- To release, exhale to step the right foot forward into Uttanasana (Standing Forward Bend).
