When you're considering hiring someone to do aerial photography for you, there are a few things to consider.

Rain or Shine, real estate and architectural photography can be a challenge. Especially if you're on a tight schedule and Mother Nature's not interested in cooperating.

Here's a short piece on the topic at +Torben Photography .

Howdy Folks,

The formal email with all data for this year's 5th Annual Rough Riders Half-K Ride (I know, we said 4th last week), has been sent to all registered participants.

If you're thinking you'll be coming, make sure to let me know. I'll need your name, email, & cell. I'll also need your emergency contacts name, relation, and cell. Then I'll get you the formal data packet.

Here's the high-level view of our route, including 4 covered bridges and a planned lunch stop :)

For those of you curious, the 4th annual Rough Riders 1/2-K Ride is moving forward. The event is slated for Saturday, May 7. My partner David Bonskey and I are working on the route as we speak.

This year we are doing a fresh take at the inaugural ride's Covered Bridge theme. While one of the original 4 bridges has been lost to arson, there are still plenty in Michigan. The goal: Enjoy ourselves, socialize, and ride.

The tentative plan, high level, is to meet May 7, 8:30a, at Espresso Royale downtown Ann Arbor (on Main). We will ride an elongated loop toward the west side of the state. The general approach, as always: ride ~90 miles; kibbitz and refuel (~20 minutes); ride another ~90, kibbitz & refuel; repeat... Somewhere in the middle we'll have a planned lunch stop.

If you're interested, please email as jt.pedersen@live.com
Include this info:
Subject: RR 1/2-K
Name: (First and Last)
Cell #
Email (yes, even if I can go 'get it' from your header)
Emergency Contact: Name, relation, cell

All info required in order to be considered signed up. While there will be spaces on the disclaimer & registration form for walk-ins, it's far easier to pre-fill the sheet, have folks find their name and sign, than spend time writing it all in. Plus, I'll use the info, within the group, to make sure everyone has cell ‪#‎s‬ in case they get lost, have issues, etc.

Out taking pictures early this morning...
Detroit Mounted Police
Favorite pic of the day. Officer Karl was kind enough to let me make a photograph of him. Great guy, great job. Have to see about a more-planned set of shots with him this season.

He and his partner make for a very positive, very identifiable representatives of the Detroit Mounted Police force. Felt good just knowing he was around. Crossed paths a few times this morning.

2015 Seemed a challenge, getting stiffer in the second half of the year.  Here's why I believe team made from 2015's leaves will be a stiff brew.  And, what some companies may need to do to confront it.

One of the challenges this season...I got some great winter shots when we had snow...6 weeks ago. But I've not had any with snow and Christmas and Holiday decorations up. Bummer.

Michigan...I'm with twisted emotions. No snow, no white Christmas, no cool Christmas pics (of this year) to share. On the other hand, at/near 70F for Wednesday is a nice consolation prize<g>>
