Amazing what eLearning is doing for us. I have had the privilege of attending some amazing courses this semester at Stanford right from my home. Both MIT and Harvard also have a variety of courses that are free and/or paid online for credit. This approach to education may transform what we think the role of higher education institutions should be.  Not every course is suited to this treatment, but I found that all of the innovation and tech courses were interesting and engaging even in the recorded format.

Have to be kidding me. A high caliber restaurant with not only Goose Island Bourbon County available, but they made ice cream with it. Fabulous. June restaurant, Peoria, IL

Someone needs to invest in a company that creates small workout facilities, showers, and pod beds at airports. Delays should equal sleep or a workout at least.

I think some people miss the premise of kickstarter.com. The point is micro VC funding. It isn't a shopping site people. It is an idea site.

One of the coolest projects I funded was the TJ Animatronic Puppet. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jeffkessler/tj-an-animatronic-puppet. Unfortunately for this poor Standford masters student, he wanted 25 backers and $2500. Instead he got 355 backers and $30k. Sounds like a good problem to have until you realize that requires so much more time to produce such a manual device.

He received too many complaints from "backers" who thought they were buying a "product" like one would order from Amazon. So he has been forced to return funding to most of his backers.

I told him to keep my VC money. Because I think this dude just might have a big idea in his life. And this kind of creativity should have backing.

Hanging out at an APTA Research & Technology meeting at CUTR at USF. Always interesting to see the academic perspective on the world.
