Thanks to those of you who recommended I condense the header in my new blog design, making it shorter. We listened!

We have adjusted the header on the home page. We reduced the header even further on interior pages, so you can see the full title and subtitle of the post.

Click on the home page below and then on an interior page to see the difference:

Home page: http://michaelhyatt.com/
Interior Page: http://michaelhyatt.com/more-time.html

Thanks for your help! I think this is MUCH better.

What does marriage have to do with leadership? If you are married, everything. Nothing will undermine your effectiveness as a leader faster than a bad marriage.

Your marriage is a living example of what it is like to be in a close relationship with you. This is why it is so important that leaders get this right if they want to influence others.

I’m a morning person. I love waking up before everyone else, love that first cup of tea or coffee, love the sunrise and silence of a new day. How about you?

How do you kickstart your day, even when you don’t feel like it? By focusing on these three areas.

3 Disciplines for Achieving Daily Victory I face a dragon named Lethargy every morning. It has three heads: spiritual, physical, and intellectual. If I don’t slay this dragon before breakfast, he usually gets the best of me.

We just launched my redesigned blog.
The 7 Steps I Took to Reimagine My Brand I thrive on the creative energy of change. It’s what drives my interest in entrepreneurialism and technology. It’s also what’s behind this new design of my blog. The old design was dated—“long in the tooth,” as they used to say. Beyond that, my brand has grown beyond leadership, and I wanted a design that served […]

There are 3 steps that I use time and time again in moments when I feel overwhelmed and uncertain. They simultaneously give me relief and clarity.

Read them here: http://michaelhyatt.com/what-to-do-when-you-dont-know-what-to-do.html
Whenever I feel overwhelmed or uncertain about the future, I follow the advice I was given by an older, wiser colleague. It is surprisingly simple but enormously effective.

Great advice!  Your third suggestion was the best for me - do something!  I can't move forward when I'm standing still.

Are you? ... new post.
How the Way You Speak Can Sabotage Your Success Our words can be powerful tools to accomplish our goals. But sometimes the things we say can sabotage our success. I have led, counseled, and mentored people for decades now. One thing I’ve noticed time and again is how much power our words possess. Whether we’re speaking, blogging, selling, or debating, we rely on our […]

This is very important isn't it Michael, simple but so easy to do unconsciously. I'd also add the how attitude can dramatically lose you power. I'd you think you lack power, believe you are less powerful, you will not be able to avoid those words!

A while back, one of my friends asked, “How do you get through all of your email. It’s killing me. I just can’t seem to get on top of it.” I know the feeling.

Actually, I get asked this question a lot. Despite all the current technology and software tools available, many people are falling further behind with each passing day. They just can’t seem to keep up with the avalanche of digital messages hitting their inbox.

But it is really possible to get caught up on your email and stay caught up? Yes. I’ve done so for years, even as the demands of my job have increased. I’m not bragging; it’s just a fact. But I should warn you: there is no easy fix. Taking control of your inbox means changing your behavior. You must be willing to make the investment.

New Post: Welcome to My Newly Redesigned Blog; The 7 Steps I Took to Reimagine My Brand
----------------
I thrive on the creative energy of change. It’s what drives my interest in entrepreneurialism and technology. It’s also what’s behind the new design of my blog.

The old design was dated—“long in the tooth,” as they used to say. Beyond that, my brand has grown beyond leadership, and I wanted a design that served readers by better representing me and what I do.

If your branding doesn’t represent you, you’re not serving yourself or your audience.

New Post: 3 Reasons We Should Be Slow to Judge
--------------------------------------
When I think of key leadership qualities, decisiveness is always high on the list. The ability to quickly size up a situation and act is essential.

But sometimes we can be too fast. And that’s especially true when it comes to criticism.

Every day in America between five hundred and a thousand people die because of medical errors. Unless carefully administered at the right dose, medicine is just another word for poison.

It’s the same way with criticism.

In our direct-access economy, there are few assets more valuable than a good email list. But what makes a list good?

The first answer is usually size. We base our value judgment on how many people are on the list. It’s the same for social media metrics. The more the merrier.

But not so fast. Reach is not the same as influence.
