e-Tourist visa facility to be implemented at Karipur Airport from February
The e-tourist visa (eTV) facility will be implemented at the Karipur Airport from February onwards.
With the introduction of the facility, Kerala would have e-Tourist Visa for arriving tourists in its three airports.
The facility is now available in 16 airports in the country including the Cochin International Airport and Thiruvananthapuram Airport.

Maharashtra places Koyana on tourism map
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis having announced 2017 as “Visit Maharashtra” year, as part of the efforts to strengthen tourism economy, the state government’s tourism and hospitality arm, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has introduced Koyana as a new destination in New Mahabaleshwar. At an event held at Mumbai Press Club, MTDC unveiled its plan to boost tourism in Koyana through event-based promotions, which will be led by Gujarat-based real estate and hospitality company Presidency Group.

Eco-tourism has to be about ecology and not economy
In what is meant to be a treat for wildlife enthusiasts, the government of Karnataka declared 2017 as the Year of the Wild. The objective, say authorities, is to popularize wilderness tourism and eco-trails across the state. A noble initiative, say experts, but are authorities really able to mobilize awareness among citizens and make wildlife tourism an experience for them.

Railways to launch train for religious tourism
The railways will launch a train for religious tourists on February 17 that will originate in Guwahati and cover shrines in West Bengal and Odisha, it was announced on Wednesday.
The Aastha Circuit Tourist Train will be jointly operated by the Northeast Frontier Railway and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corp.

The kids who will receive the National Bravery awards, for their outstanding acts of gallantry, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Republic Day were invited to showcase the incredible 1000 years journey of rise, fall and shaping of the capital city through a spectacular Sound & Light show ‘Ishq-e-Dilli’ operated by ITDC.
