We had made a reservation a few weeks prior to our trip to Florida for a full day trip. Were told to be there at 7 a.m. Got up before 5 a.m. to drive down from Orlando, only to find no one there. At 7:30 someone showed up at the office, we went to check in and found out that they were not going out that day. Asked why no one called us since we had a reservation and no explanation was given. Screwed our whole day and not even apology. All they had to do was call us before we made the effort to be there as we were told and they could have avoided this review.

I should have stayed at home.We didn't board until 7pm so we didn't leave the dock until 7:15. No one caught anything for the first hour. The captain never moved the boat. I finally caught a croaker but that was it for me and my party of 4. A total of 5 sharks were caught for the hole boat. The biggest one might have been 4 feet . I could of had more fun if I took a $160.00 and flushed it down the toilet and cast my line in the bathtub. DO NOT GO ON THIS BOAT!!!

Our group of nine went out for the full-day fishing trip on 3/21/15. The boat was clean and spacious, but it was packed due to it being a Saturday and spring break. Let me start with the bad part first. On our way back to port after a full day of fishing, the crew started throwing garbage overboard, plastic water bottles, Styrofoam cups, plastic cups, wrappers, etc. We were surprised and repulsed! I couldn't believe they were doing that! We had a lot of fun though. We did catch some fish but not many. But that's fishing. Sometimes you catch a lot and sometimes you don't. The fishermen who caught the most were the ones who brought their own bait and tackle, so I would recommend you bring your own if you can. I wish that when we booked this trip, they would have told us that. We certainly would have brought our own bait. Maybe we would have had better luck. The crew was friendly, informative and very helpful and, overall, for the price, it was a great deal! I just wish it hadn't ended on such a poor note with the littering.

I have been on out on the full day trips many many times, and the half day the first time this week. In every single trip I have had an absolute amazing time. I get off the boat half the time wanting to go in and book my trip for the next week. The crew is perfect every time. They are friendly, always willing to help out and offer advice. I bring home dinner almost every trip (There was one trip that we didn't get any keepers, but that is just fishing for you.) Obviously with the full day you get a little more fishing time in, but with the half day you get some more sleeping time in the morning so it is a trade off. Both captains know how to put you on the fish though, and you are usually cranking something up in minutes. I have caught so many different types of fish on these boats. Lane snapper, red snapper (It hurts every time you have to throw a 10+ lb red back, but those are the rules), yellow tail snapper, mangrove, mutton snapper, grouper, spanish mackeral, blue runners, cuban hogfish....I am sure there is more but I can't think of them. When you get back the crew very expertly will filet your fish for tips, and they do a great job of it too. I can't wait until my next trip, I might even go back out tomorrow if the weather holds up.

I recently took a fishing trip with Orlando Princess. I was less than impressed with the entire charter experience with the Orlando Princess. I will break this down for all of you so you know what to expect. EQUIPMENT: You should bring your own. The rods have rusty reels and guides. The first rod that was given to me had a broken first guide. I asked for a replacement and I received a left handed rod that I had to peel the line off by hand (the line should free spool off the reel). The hooks are VERY VERY dull, the one on my rod was rusty. The hooks are so dull it is difficult to hook the fish or the bait for that matter. BAIT: The bait wouldn’t stay on the hook if you felt one tiny bite on your rod your bait was gone. The bait was soft and nearly fell apart when placing it on the hook. I started using some squid as a result of losing multiple baits. One of the deck hands came by and insults me says “You don’t want to use that leather.” Why did they give me a bucket of leather then??? THE TRIP: Three plus hours of the trip was consumed by just going to the spot. A long trip on a really slow boat does not leave much time for fishing. You will be charged extra if you want to fish off the back of the boat. I would say you SHOULD fish off the back of the boat. The patrons fishing the back got more attention. Not sure if this is legal or not but the small fish that were caught were immediately chopped up and put in buckets for those at the back of the boat. Didn’t see the captain at all. The deck hands had to go tell him how things were going and then we would move again. I hope you literally like fishing elbow to elbow and tangling lines! DECK HANDS: One lady got tangled up and the deck hand basically ripped the rod out of her hand stormed off after he fixed the problem. They offered no tips other than “Just reel.” They came by at the end of the trip asking for tips though. In my opinion you would be far better off choosing a smaller more expensive charter. If you are just looking for cheap then go on this cheap charter but expect everything to be cheap. Cheap equipment service boat and so forth. Come with low expectations and you will have a better experience. I have taken charters before but this one was the worst I have ever been on.

I went fishing on this boat may 2014, and it was by far the worst fishing trip I have ever been on. I have been deep sea fishing for over 40 years. They would not let us take anything to drink on the boat. Then they would not take us to where the big fish were. All the other boats I have been on, we would catch Grouper, red snapper, and many other big fish. I did not see one red snapper caught. And if you are not catching red snapper, you wont be catching any big fish. All the Mates agreed with me, and said I was right. But could not do anything about it. They said they just work there. But the bad thing was the Capt. did not give a rates ass about it. Sad Sad Sad

From Colorado - it was my first time on the ocean for a "Night Shark Fishing Trip" on the Orlando Princess. The crew was courteous and the all inclusive trip included a hamburger, chips and drinks. It was an enjoyable trip and the crew was great - however, there were a few locals on board that were drinking, cussing loudly and were a little rowdy (all the things that the captain said were not permitted on the ship). This made the evening a bit uncomfortable. There were not many fish or sharks being caught by anyone. Every shark that was caught were at or under 2 foot in length (not as impressive as the photos and hype). When asked to find another spot, we were told that we couldn't because we would need to start over with a new chum line. If I was to make the trip again, I would choose the day fishing or shore fishing. It was a fun experience, however, not fun enough to take the trip again.

We been on fishing party boat numerous times. This is the first time we caught NOTHING. I understand mother nature does not always corporate, but NOTHING?????? It is like a ripoff. The only guys catching anything decent were using their own tackle and live bait.
