Here's my take on #MillionsMissing  global day of action to raise awareness that millions worldwide are missing from their careers, schools, social lives and families due to the debilitating symptoms of the disease M.E. (aka CFS). At the same time, millions of dollars & pounds are missing from research and clinical education funding that ME should be receiving. And millions of doctors are missing out on proper training to diagnose and help patients manage this illness.

Here are my walking shoes. The laces spell out the reason they're missing in action now. The link tells you why. You can find the story of millions of others too, on the #millionsmissing  hashtag. Thank you!

Posted for M.E. Awareness Day today, May 12th. Please remember all those bedbound with this devastating disease, as I was, or housebound, as I frequently am for months on end. It's not controversial, or psychological, as the establishment and media love to say, in order to cut the cost of research and caring: it's mitochondrial and autoimmune. It can demolish the busy, vigorous, happy lives of the fittest, the youngest, the most positive of us at any moment, us or our loved ones. Let's do it for M.E.! +Let's Do It for ME +Invest inME #MEAwarenessDay

Sharing this for all people struggling with M.E.: children, young people just starting out in their lovely lives to find themselves, after a passing virus, or other unlooked-for toxin, poleaxed by this hateful illness, and we lucky ones who managed to snatch a few wonderful bursts of activity, education, adventure, work, travel, between bouts of this persistent sickness before it caught up with us more severely for our pushing those envelopes of energy needed for this thing called life.
I wish us all strength and humour for the present and hope for the future on ‪#‎MEAwarenessDay‬

A man here who tells it exactly as it is. I can relate to every experience here, every word. I hope you never have to, though I know so many of my friends with this diagnosis, whatever your doctor calls it, will relate to it too. Perfectly put. ‪#‎MEAwarenessDay‬
How do you write about living with an illness for almost 30 years without sounding like you’re whining? It’s a tricky job, and despite three decades of experience with it I’m still not confident in speaking of my medical condition. I much prefer to bat away the issue of my health and use smoke and mirrors to mask my reality. In the late 1980s, when I was aged just eight, I was given the diagnosis of ME – Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. After years ...

People all around the world are still bedbound, housebound, tube-fed, or struggling with M.E. in so many ways, often forgotten and abandoned as the fight goes on, so slowly, to raise awareness and combat ignorance among the media, medics and masses.

+Invest inME  offer a shining light of hope for the future through biomedical research. Please find a way to understand and care this M.E. Awareness Week. Believe me, it could be any one of us, or one of our beloved ones tomorrow. +Let's Do It for ME  #MEAwarenessDay
