If people don't understand what we are trying to get across it isn't usually their fault, it's ours.

You wouldn't be alone if you were unsure about what it might be like working with a coach. I tried to give an overview of what's included in this article on my Reflect and Lead blog.

Do take a look and let me know what you think. If there's anything missing let me know and I'll try and provide an answer (maybe another article).

With the news that LinkedIn is selling itself to Microsoft I thought I'd start transitioning my posts there over to my own blog, Reflect & Lead. Probably should have put them up on there in the first place. Let me know what you think of this one about getting the length of a coaching session right.

If you didn't see this in +Fast Company about the range of support that CEOs gather around them then it's well worth a read. Coaching of course gets a mention as does the support of other CEOs who have been through what they've been through.

Behaviours and attitudes of individuals and groups may differ throughout any organisation but when a leader sees others acting in a way they think is inappropriate or simply wrong they need to look at themselves first. Most people will consciously and unconsciously replicate the behaviours they see acted out by those at the very top.

Coaching can provide real value for individuals but it's tangible bottom line impacts that count in the workplace.

Whatever the #meeting, whatever the topic, whatever the way you are going to 'get together' make sure your meetings are as effective as they can be. If there's nothing to talk about , cancel the meeting and free up everyone's time.

My next #coaching article on Reflect and Lead will be called something like "Why would you want to work with a coach?" Hoping to try and bring together some of the times when people might want to start working with a coach for the first time.

If you've any thoughts on this do add a comment and let me know.

Habits don't deserve all the bad press they get

Take some time to develop good habits that will serve you well.

Coaching Sessions Should Be How Long?

There are many variables involved when judging how long any given coaching session should be. Coaches need to let potential clients know how long sessions are likely to be and clients need to know that their coach will be flexible enough to adjust those timings when necessary.
