Couple of weeks ago we went to Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village in Warrnambool to step back in time and learn more about Shipwreck Coast of Victoria and its rich maritime history.

An amazing day experience, getting very close up to most of the animals freely roaming around the zoo.

While many visitors come to Hahndorf to get a glimpse of the past, Hahndorf is increasingly acknowledged for the modern and the chic and generally a trendy place to wine and dine or to hang out with friends. It is also a good place to buy some Christmas decorations (if you visit the village in December) or enjoy autumn beauty during long Easter holidays.

#Adelaide is the capital city of the state of South Australia, and the fifth-most populous city of Australia. The city lies north of the Fleurieu Peninsula, on the Adelaide Plains between the Gulf St Vincent and the low-lying Mount Lofty Ranges which surround the it. Adelaide stretches 20 km from the coast to the foothills, and 90 km from Gawler at its northern extent to Sellicks Beach in the south.
As you know, we spent two fantastic holidays here exploring this beautiful city in autumn and summer.
Further below you can see some photos of the Adelaide city centre made during our walks.

We visited Mount Lofty Botanic Garden twice - in April 2015 to capture the colour of autumn around Adelaide and in January 2016, to escape summer heat. I’d say this majestic garden is a absolutely must-visit place if you are in Adelaide Hills. Let me explain why.

Located only 12km from the heart of Adelaide City, Glenelg is a charming seaside suburb with sandy white shores, bustling shops and restaurants and attractions for all ages. Established in 1836, it is the oldest European settlement on mainland South Australia (the oldest being Kingscote on Kangaroo Island), with the proclamation of the colony of South Australia.

Adelaide Botanic Garden (opened to the public on 4 October 1857) is a 51 hectare public garden at the north-east corner of the Adelaide city centre, in the Adelaide Park Lands. It encompasses a fenced garden on North Terrace (between the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the National Wine Centre) and behind it the Botanic Park (adjacent to the Adelaide Zoo). Adelaide Botanic Garden, together with Wittunga and Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens, comprise the Botanic Gardens of South Australia.

Adelaide Zoo is not only Australia's second oldest zoo (after Melbourne Zoo),but also a home for two giant pandas - Wang Wang and Funi – the only Giant Pandas in the Southern Hemisphere.
