I wrote a "Star Wars" style guide for my fellow Times copy editors. Now, it's available to the whole galaxy.
When most people think of “Star Wars” style, Princess Leia’s side-buns hairdo and white robe or Darth Vader’s fearsome black helmet and cape probably come to mind. For copy editors, it’s more likely how to punctuate a jumble of words such as Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope or whether to spell Chewbacca’s species as Wookie or Wookiee.

Matt Sturges and Dave Justus will write the first Digital First series for Vertigo: "Fables: The Wolf Among Us." Yes, it's based on the game, which is a prequel to the comic ... They gamely dive into all of that and discuss Bigby, Jack, Bill Willingham and more in an in-depth interview.
Just as Bigby Wolf is a fable no matter whether he's in the mundane world or more mystical realms, so is his story "Fables" no matter what format it's in.

Writers Robert Venditti and Van Jensen talk about today's "The Flash: Futures End" issue (so, y'know, SPOILERS), what's going on with Wally West, how Jensen's past as a crime reporter will inform what happens with Iris West in the next arc, and more.
Barry Allen is in a race against himself – specifically, his future self – and Wally West’s life hangs in the balance. The time-bending story that writers Robert Venditti and Van Jensen launched when they took over “The Flash” earlier this year reaches a major turning point in “Fu...

The upcoming 'Penny Dora and the Wishing Box' is an all-ages five-issue fantasy comic set in Southern California. It's the comics debut of Part-Time Punks founder Michael Stock (and is inspired by a short story his young daughter wrote) and features art by Sina Grace and lettering and a variant cover by Hope Larson. Stock and Grace discuss making this wish come true -- and what bands the young hero would fall for.
“Penny Dora and the Wishing Box,” Michael Stock and Sina Grace’s new all-ages Image Comics series, has its roots in a half-page story written five years ago – by, appropriately enough, an 8-year-old.

'Saga's' Eisner winners Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples on killing characters, galactic multiculturalism, cover images of breastfeeding, why slave girl Leia isn't sexy, and the possibility of a Lying Cat plushie.
“Saga,” writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Fiona Staples told their panel’s capacity crowd Saturday at Comic-Con, is Hazel’s story. The daughter of Alana and Marko – on-the-run lovers born of warring alien species – Hazel narrates Vaughan and Staples’ creator-owned, Eisner Award...

A rundown of the comics announcements bonanza at Image Expo. Two new projects from Brian K. Vaughan, a Scott Snyder-Jeff Lemire collaboration, Skottie Young going ballistic in wonderland, Zdarsky's comedy in outer space, Marjorie Liu plays with monsters ...
