Hands on: The first things you notice about the new HTC One (M8)

I'm in the midst of living with the new HTC One and getting to know it inside and out. I'll share some detailed thoughts and impressions with you soon, but for now, here are the first things you notice when you start to use the device:

Why was a comment I made blocked?  The comment wasn't personal or rude, it politely advised a different view than the post made. I received two emails telling me the comment was blocked I wasn't a member of the community. What?

Excellent service. The dealership service department wanted over $600 to change the radiator on my car. And I'd have to leave it overnight. Terry did the job in a couple of hours and it cost half that amount. You won't be sorry. They know their stuff and they're not out to rob their customers. All I can say is -I'm very satisfied.

Phillip and his staff made me feel like I and my car repair were important to them. I got a quick and fair estimate, and it took only a few days to repair my seriously whacked up front end. They took the time to see to a couple of extras and I appreciate that. The next time I need any body work done, I know where I'm going to take it. No doubt about it.

These people DO NOT stand behind the products they sell. They sold me a defective mattress. In fact, the more I have to deal with them the more I think they knew they were sending me a bad mattress. So now I have to let a third party decide whether or not I'm going to have to just eat this $900 mattress. That's just plain unethical. I still have a lot of furnaiture to buy, and Hoffman's is off my list. $900 just cost them about $12,000. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I went in on a Saturday about 9 a.m. It was far from busy.I ordered the garden omelette. The coffee in the urn my waitress brought was obviously old, as it was stale, acrid and stout enough to hold a pencil straight up. The fresh urn I requested held some good coffee. The menu stated that omelettes at IHop are fluffy because they add some pancake batter to them. And how. What I received sure looked like an omelette, but had nearly no discernible egg flavor at all. The onion was the only nuance to make it through the overpowering texture and flavor of PANCAKE. Hard pink tomatoes, flavorless cheese (I cleared my mouth with water and nibbled a bit that I think was meant to be garnish) and PANCAKE. I got half of it down and gave up. Inattentive wait staff. I will try you again, east side Norman IHop, but someone had better do some managing in the meantime. Food sells a restaurant, Mr. Manager, not novelty nor brand name. Do your job.

Wow, has this store ever gone down in quality. There was a time when this was absolutely the place to come for remodeling and home repair. Knowledgeable and helpful personnel and great prices. No more. Now the help is surly and stupid, needing to call on their little walkie-talkie for the answer to the simplest questions. None of them seem to have any idea that they are there to help customers. And don't call the store to speak to the manager! He sure as hell doesn't want to bothered by someone as unimportant as a customer. The attitude that the customer is supposed to kowtow to store employees is pretty common in New York City. It's a shame that it's found a new home in Norman, OK. I just go to Lowes now. They at least seem happy to have me in the store.
