Sports Director WMTW News 8
Introduction

Travis Lee knows all about the great local rivalries in southern Maine. That's because he's a native of Yarmouth, and he even took part in some of them -- way back when.

Travis joined the WMTW News 8 sports team in April 2000 after working as the weekend sports anchor in Bangor at WABI. An Ithaca College graduate, Travis also worked in Ithaca at NewsCenter 7 before returning to his home state.

While working in New York, Travis felt a little like a hypocrite. It wasn't too much fun for this card-carrying member of Red Sox Nation to spend so much time talking about the Yankees and Mets. So it's a grand understatement to say Travis is happy to be working in his hometown.

At WMTW News 8 Travis is our resident utility infielder. He reports, produces, anchors and fills in the gaps. In his spare time Travis (surprise, surprise) likes to golf, play basketball, and talk sports. He's also the founder of the "Steve Grogan for the Hall of Fame" club.
