A writer for children of all ages

Who Killed The Flowers?, my latest book for children is being offered by Amazon for Kindle and at Barnes and Noble and several other venues through In a year or so, I will come out with Book 111. The manuscripts hung around unpublished for some years. I am 84, and I did not want someone to find them in a drawer after I am gone.   I am glad they are finally out there and I can get to work on something new. Not having seen what I had written for some years and reading them with a fresh mind, I was surprised by what I had written.

Characters are very important in children's books... more important than plot.  I was introduced to Mary Poppins when I was 4 or 5, and P.L. Travers did such a good job with her I almost believed she was a real person. I had invested so much in her, I could hardly accept the Julie Andrews characterization.

Who Killed The Flowers, the funny new brownie adventure is available from Amazon, and for your computer and small devices, can be purchased at Otherwise, just read the first two chapters on my web site for free.

Author M.E. Heller (Celestine Press) has a new page about her books,  her thoughts about the classic literature for children, and how to encourage children to love books.
