Prediction: instead of Oracle coming out and admitting they were morons about their idiotic suit against Android, they'll come out posturing and talk about how they'll be vindicated, and pay lawyers to take it to the next level of idiocy.

Sometimes I really wish I wasn't always right. It's a curse, I tell you.

No way he's going to be in Real Madrid that long. He either wins the Champions League and quits or gets fired if he doesn't win the Champions League in 1 or 2 years.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Real Madrid CF and Jose Mourinho have reached an agreement to extend the latter's contract with the club until 30 June 2016.

Larry Page originally shared:

I loved Wired's article on self driving cars. This technology has been a passion of mine for years because it will help save lives, help lots of people who have difficulty driving, and reduce congestion on our roads. In 2006, Stanford's driverless car (named Stanley!) won a DARPA challenge, and $2M in prize money, when it successfully drove solo for hours through the desert. I was lucky enough to watch that race, and not the previous year, where none of the cars had been able to finish -- quite a fast technological improvement. Fast forward to today -- Google's self-driving cars have now clocked up over 200K miles, and they can easily navigate the freeway in rush hour at highway speeds. According to the article nearly 370,000 people lost their lives on American roads between 2001 and 2009--93% due to human error. Using technology to improve safety on our roads will make the world a better place.

Robotic vehicles, from Google to Mercedes, have arrived. So what form and purpose will these cars have when we finally let go of the wheel?

Really like today's doodle!

Yay! Another doodle... Google has marked the birthday of music pioneer Robert Moog by creating a 'Doodle' in the form of an interactive electronic synthesiser which can be played by clicking on its keys using a cursor. There's also an Egyptian presidential elections doodle: https://twitter.com/GoogleArabia/status/205197193840312321

Education is finally moving online! The current system just doesn't scale. I wasted so much time at uni attending lectures with 100+ students where teachers were just telling their story with little or no interaction. Not the most motivating environment...

AVOID using Hummingbird cars at all cost! Booked for a Gatwick -> London and London -> Gatwick journeys, for a 6 people family. The first taxi arrived 30 minutes late to pick us up at the airport. For the second one, they sent a car that was too small for the amount of luggage that we specified when we booked online (the driver called the office and confirmed that they made a mistake when processing the booking). Not only that, but the driver charged us 7 pounds more that agreed upon arrival, even if we had the email confirmation showing the lower amount.

Excellent food, good prices, BYO alcohol... Forget about Brick Lane and give this one a try if you want to have a decent curry. A bit on the spicy side so make sure to order everything *mild* if you are not into very hot food.
