More mid-January thoughts from Salt Spring Island... - January, on the Pacific Northwest Coast, holds both Winter and Spring in its grasp. Some days show a Winter face and others foretell Spring. Check out the gardens for those crocus, snowdrop, and daffodil bulbs...tiny shoots are already poking up. Seedy Saturday events are underway. Every day is just a little lighter. Entrepreneurship is alive and well on Salt Spring Island - Salt Spring encourages a spirit of entrepreneurship. Have you seen the evolution of Grace Point Square into an authentic artists locale? The latter part of a year does seem to be continued into the early part of the...

Christmas greetings from Salt Spring Island.... - The English tradition of the 12 Days of Christmas begins on Christmas Eve and celebrates through to January 6 (Twelfth Night). The French tradition of Reveillon is celebrated on Christmas Eve. Canada is a bilingual country, with two founding traditions...English and French. This is a season of light and joy and inspiration...of traditions old and new...of memory and of forward thinking. It's not for nothing that we are almost at January, and...
