Guy takes a chainsaw to the neck while tree trimming, turns it off, climbs down under his own power, and lives.

Meanwhile, I cut my finger on a tin can lid while doing the dishes on Monday and I about had an fucking aneurysm.
A tree trimmer was seriously injured after being cut in the neck with a chainsaw Monday, and now we’re getting our first look at an X-ray of his injury.

Jason would have just stood up and stapled his head back on.

That is one of the most amazing highly-improbable-but-factually-correct lines I have seen in a long time.

"Batteries aren't supposed to sound like that."

No, really?

This is a tiny fish called a "spiny lumpsucker".

It has a suction cup on its underside.

I am not making this up.

So I haven't been using G+ much lately. Back in January-ish that Bitcoin FAQ thing I wrote went quasi-viral on Twitter, and much to my chagrin I've found myself drawn into its clutches.

Some of my recent posts have been kind of NSFW and I tend to retweet more than I post new stuff, but some of you folks might be interested anyway.

Lying is a terrible way to behave, too, y'know.
My Pavlovian response whenever the word "bitcoin" is said out loud is to guffaw, because wow, it's pretty much currency fanfic trying to pass itself off as financial literature.

This is already being explored in the wild, so it might be a good idea to update manually to make sure.

Small chance that the future Star Wars films will not be garbage:

1) Lucas not involved
2) "Expanded Universe" burned
3) Writer of "Empire" doing script

Prediction: watchable garbage, unlike prequels, which were unwatchable garbage.

I feel so bad for everyone involved in Star Trek: Into Whiteness. The first movie was sort of trashy but plenty of fun, and all of the actors were spot on in their feel for the characters, then apparently for a followup J.J. Abrams decided it would be awesome to take a huge dump in a bunch of film cannisters and mail them to theaters at book rate. He is going to ruin the hell out of Star Wars; I don't even think Lawrence Kasdan can keep Abrams from fucking it up. Good on Disney for slashburning the Expanded Universe, though, it was getting hard for anyone to find a place to stand any more because the galaxy was filling up with horrendous mary sues.

The top commentor on the page is right, the article is feckin' hilarious if you read EU throughout as European Union.

Omnipotent Abrahamic One-God Dammit, I came here to post a thing about Conservadepia having an entry for Poe's Law, and the friggin' Teabaggers had already one-upped me.

We need more of this sort of journalism, that isn't afraid to name names.
