Blue Lagoon Cruises Gives Travel Leaders a Welcome Fit for a Princess
A right royal Fiji welcome awaited a VIP group of international travel industry leaders aboard Blue Lagoon Cruises’ Fiji Princess in the lead up to the 2016 Fiji Tourism Expo (May 3-6).

Pictured (from left) are some of the VIPs during their visit to upmarket Yasawa resort Paradise Cove: Andrew Guthery, ANZCRO, United Kingdom; Paula Lipscombe, GTA, New Zealand; Regula Odermatt, Oceania, Switzerland; Timoci Tuiqali, Paradise Cove; Dizy Shah, Sona Tours, United Kingdom; Leigh Jacobs and Wendy Fisher, Blue Lagoon Cruises.

The VIP travel industry party cruised the Mamanuca and Yasawa island chains. Their itinerary included an inspection visit to Paradise Cove and several other resorts also packaged by Blue Lagoon Cruises and sister company Awesome Adventures Fiji.
Located on Naukacuvu Island mid-way up the Yasawa chain, Paradise Cove received praise from several of the visitors as being a perfect property to market in a combination resort-cruise vacation package.
At their first overnight anchorage at Modriki Island, the guests wriggled their bare toes in the pure white sand while being treated to rousing meke entertainment along with canapes and cocktails served at a South Seas-style bar Fiji Princess crew had set up on the beach.
Dinner followed back on board the Fiji Princess and featured a specially designed menu showcasing Fiji-inspired dishes using locally sourced fresh produce.
After breakfast the next morning many of the VIPs took went snorkelling with the white tipped reef sharks at Mouva Reef. Later in the day they visited an island village and were greeted by the children who sang their welcome in fine harmony.
The travel industry leaders hailed from many of Fiji’s major tourism markets – Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and New Zealand – and included Tourism Fiji representatives.
They are in Fiji this week to attend the annual Fiji Tourism Expo where local Fiji tourism operators have the opportunity to promote their products and experiences to international travel buyers.
Blue Lagoon Cruises, Awesome Adventures Fiji and sister companies South Sea Cruises, which provides resort transfers and day trips, and the volunteering programme, Vinaka Fiji, are major exhibitors at the expo.
