I feel blessed as a coach. So proud of the season my girls had during their high school season. Throughout the season I heard from multiple people about the players from the Monarchs who represented their teams so well. I had the opportunity to watch many of them in action, and to watch them be leaders, both on and off the field is so much fun to witness.
As if that wasn't enough to be proud of, I also had the privilege of having seven girls that represented their schools at the state championships in Springfield, MO. All seven made it to their respective class state championship, including my daughter's team, the Staley Falcons, who won the 4A State championship versus a very tough Marquette team. All but one of my girls walked away a state champion, and that was only because she had to face two of her summer ball team mates, in a game that ended in hard fought battle until the end.
It goes without saying how proud I am of my players. But the coolest thing, was to share this moment not only with them but with all of their families. As a coach it made me feel so good to see how proud their parents were, to have the people they know come up to me and congratulate me for having such a great group of girls.
I am the lucky one! These girls work so hard, and to watch them reach one of the ultimate goals in their sport, a state championship representing their school, is something that I will never forget, and will always be thankful that they let their ball coach be a part of this special occasion!
Than you Alyssa, Brit, Baylie, Katie, Maddy, Bug, and Maddy!
