So, here we are, the day AFTER another mass shooting in a
gun-free zone. No, I’m not going to argue about gun control or about the
idiocy of victim-disarmament zones. No, I’m talking about the almost universal passivity of the students in the face of deat...

For those in Infosec in the Southwest, looking for a gig.

I got pinged yesterday about a full-time permanent Security Engineering job in the Phoenix area.  Looks mid-level, and I'm not interested in relocating.   Appears to be a commercial company.  Ping me privately if you want details, and I'll pass them to you, including the name and number of the recruiter.

Recruiter DID mention that they're "moving fast" on this one . . .

OK: got a ping for a Security Job in Mountain View, California.

Not interested.  But pinging my friends network, because this MIGHT be a fit for one of you. . .

They're looking for a mid-level or senior individual contributor candidate who has experience doing security and vulnerability assessments, writing reports, doing ongoing security monitoring, and someone with experience with Linux and Firewalls.  This fulltime position does not have any people management responsibilities at this time and the ideal salary range is around $130k (could be higher for the right candidate).  They're looking for a candidate who has solid communication skills and there will be traveling involved initially.

Apparently, purely commercial.  If interested, ping me privately, and I'll put you in touch. . . .

OK, got a ping on a Technician-level job, based out of Northern Virginia.  Salary 70-75K, plus company vehicle.  Security systems install and config.  Good IT skills, preferably a background in Network Security, and a clearance needed.  Ping me privately if interested. . . .
