Was Shakespeare pro womens lib? Yes. Apparently, women in Will's day were burning to hang up their aprons and play a jolly old game of "incite your husband to commit murder" - though the joke was on poor Lady Mc.B, who was still left to do the washing up afterwards. Don't even get me started on A Winter's Tale...
