It's Time to Rethink Our Approach to Core Exercise and Back Pain
It's time to rethink our approach to core exercise and back pain. Why do I say this? Because the current approach is not working. Back pain is the second most common reason for visits to the doctor’s office, outnumbered only by upper-respiratory infections.

In fact, if anything, the problem of back pain in America is escalating. This is due to a number of factors including a sedentary lifestyle, obesity, lack of exercise, decreased flexibility and over training the abs and obliques versus the smaller muscles in the back. According to the New England Journal of Medicine, "8 out of 10 Americans will have back pain problems at some point during their lifetime."

The medical costs are skyrocketing with the indirect costs estimated at twice the direct costs due to lost work days and loss of productivity. What about the tremendous pain and suffering these people endure? The recommended change to our approach is that we need to treat back pain proactively to prevent it in the first place rather than responding and treating it after the fact.

Most back pain sufferers report only moderate satisfaction with the most popular current treatment solutions. Maybe the most alarming statistic, however is the incidence of the recurrence of back pain. This suggests that our treatments are providing a temporary relief from the excruciating pain, but often do not address the root of the problem.

OK, I think these statistics will reinforce your view that the current approach is not working, but what do we do to change this? First, let's look at the way the spine operates. The four movements measured are flexion, extension, lateral flexion and rotation. Read more

Background on our Coreobics360 Efforts in preparing for our Indiegogo Crowdfunding Campaign:

I want to officially welcome you to the world of improved core strength, posture, flexibility and back health. My journey started early in life with my love of competitive sports and continued through college where I played football and baseball.

Out in the working world, I continued my play in local park leagues and teams. As I got older I discovered that my lifetime of activity had taken a toll on my back. Sitting at a desk all day didn't help. I would start to suffer bouts of back pain that sometimes lasted for months. I tried everything including hanging upside down, both prescription and over the counter drugs, physical therapy, chiropractors, traction, and the latest core exercise device.

My competitive nature did not help either. I would try the exercises and devices that I successfully utilized as a competitive athlete only to bring on another bout of back pain.

Nothing worked so I planted a seed in my mind to come up with a solution. As I researched the issue, I found out that versions of my story apply to millions of people.

I stepped up my efforts. In May of 2013, while on a weekend getaway to Grand Beach Michigan, I was walking by the little children's playground and saw those spring rider toys. You know, the ones with a horse or truck mounted on a large spring that the kids sit on and rock back and forth. It then hit me in a flash. I would base my core strengthening exercise device on the resistance of springs. Many thanks to Tommy the Truck and Freddy the Frog.

We want to bring our exercise device to everyone who wants a strong and healthy core and a strong and healthy back, from the elite competitive athlete working on a six pack, to the weekend golfer or tennis player, to the back-pain sufferer, to the senior that needs to get off the couch and move around at their own fitness level. But first, we need help from people like you.

So I would like to give some discounts to our early adopters…….big discounts. Without you, none of this would be possible. If you haven't yet, please visit http://coreobics360.pagedemo.co/ to hear about how you can receive your 40% discount reserved for our most loyal early supporters.
