What I find mind boggling with the whole airplane crashing/disappearing problems we have had lately is that:

- black boxes don't have bigger batteries
- the plane's location is not recorded on them
- there is no video of the cockpit on them either
- there is no third level cockpit door override (via satellite by a central emergency service)
- there is no satellite tracking of the plane or black boxes (if a Breitling wristwatch can give off a trackable emergency signal why can't a blackbox?)

We have smartphones that fit in our pockets but for some reason the aviation industry is not able to do that...
