Nashville Repertory Theatre's Ingram New Works Project is getting some national love from American Theatre Magazine today! “I really do think this is a city of storytellers, and that Nashville tradition is legit—I don’t think that’s just fancy sales language,” said Nate Eppler. “That’s exciting to be around. Our city really likes what’s hip, and I think new plays are always hip. There’s no way we could have built an appetite for that; it must have already been there, and we started serving it, and both of those rose together.”
Plays in Nashville Rep's Ingram New Works Lab go from seedling to sapling. The town's new-play scene, and the appetite for it, is similarly growing.

Theatre Review: "Nashville Rep’s final performance of the year goes out with a bang! There’s some awkward make-out sessions, two women having a good cry (it’s both sad and hilarious), a mental breakdown and more than a handful of laugh-out-loud moments that propel the show to a brisk pace." - Matt Kelsey for Zombies In My Blog. Read more below.
Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike is currently performing at TPAC, performed by Nashville Rep through April 25th. Make sure to catch the show soon.

Nashville is many things to many people… and we love it all! Today, we especially love that Nashville is generous and supports our efforts as a non-profit theatre to bring exciting, illuminating, artistic experiences to the people of Nashville.

You have 24 hours to give through The ‪#BigPayback‬ – to let the non-profits of Nashville know just how much you heart emoticon them. We hope you’ll consider donating to Nashville Rep and supporting Nashville’s very own live, professional, regional theatre.

"This play is a little carnival of fun," Eppler says. After the Rep's two recent heavier productions, THE WHIPPING MAN and DEATH OF A SALESMAN "this is definitely dessert." - From Fiona Soltes' interview with our Director Nate Eppler for The Tennessean. Why are you going to  VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE (VSMS)? 1) You understand how quickly drama ensues from a visit from a family member.

Fading movie star Masha brings her 20-something boy toy to visit the family farmhouse where Vanya and Sonia (who have wasted their lives away taking care of their parents) are living. Masha plans to sell the house and put her siblings out to pasture. Drama ensues...
