A chill wind begins to blow as dusk gluttonously consumes the clear spring sky. Then he appears! Buck Thor, roused from his long brumal slumber, is ready to feast. The buckthorn tell tales of his savagery and malice. It was not so long ago that they were safe, were happy. Their territory expanded every year, and their elders grew taller and wiser. And then Buck Thor came. With metal and leather, brawn and sweat, he felled all the elders in a single cycle. By the end of the second cycle, every berry bearing member of their kin had been devoured. Now all that remain are the orphaned saplings, with no elders to guide them toward the sky. And so, it is on this chilled spring eve, that the scourge of Buck Thor begins anew…

I love this place! The meat is wonderful and the service is very friendly. I've bought most of my meat from Jordan for the past few years. Their specialty brats are a staple of my summer diet. And what's more Minnesotan than Wild Rice Brats? Their chicken is superb, their pork chops are succulent, and their ground beef is great. I very highly recommend Jordan Meats and Deli!

I feel bad giving such a poor review of this place considering the front desk lady was nice. There were things about this place that were quirky, and other things that were just inexcusable. It was quirky that the bed's headboard was nailed to the wall 3 feet above the floor. It was quirky that outlet covers were all either crooked or missing. There was no divider on the floor between the shower and toilet, so the entire floor got wet. I didn't take my shoes off until I crawled into bed though, since the floor was sticky and there was gum mashed into the carpet. It was inexcusable that there was no hot water. After my long hike, all I wanted out of this place was a warm shower and clean room. And I'm sorry, but having no trash can in the room was just plain weird.

Sullen staff, terrible record keeping. Gold's was fine for bare bones facilities at a minimal cost as long as I was willing to ignore the sullen staff. When I attempted to cancel my membership after moving from the city, I had quite a bit of difficulty. I eventually paid for several months of membership more than I needed before being permitted to pay the additional cancellation fee. Three months later the manager has begun calling, insisting that I had never paid the cancellation fee. The manager, Tracy, so far has not accepted my credit card statment with the itemized charge listed on it as proof of payment. She has been quite rude throughout the process and refuses to explain exactly what is going on. I strongly do not recommend Gold's.
