Blazing summer temperatures are on the way. Here at our shop we like to keep you cool since cool heads think better. Maintaining your air conditioner will assist you in driving comfort. Having the AC freon checked by a professional is important. Also check the ventilation air filter. Pollen and dust collects about as fast as the miles go on. Having a good serpentine belt and a clean condenser grille out front helps to increase efficiency of the AC on hot days. Call us today to have a check up. #airconditioner #autorepairnearme #oilchangenearme #serpentinebelt #whydoesmyairconditionernotcool?

Have you ever wondered, "why do I need shock absorbers?" Well here is why. Roadways do get rough from freezing and thawing. Some days you really do need to drive a Dodge just so you can dodge all the pot holes. The rough jolt and clunking from driving over uneven pavement is very hard on tires, suspensions and your shock absorbers. Here at Marlin's Auto Diagnostics, we keep an eye on how your tires are wearing and the general condition of your chassis and front end. Don't get caught up short with tires and suspension parts that don't pass inspection. Let us help you maintain your vehicle. #alignment #shockabsorber #autorepair #mechanic

Here is a customer wondering, "Why does my engine use oil?" With 189,000 miles on the odometer of this 2010 Lincoln, it has seen a lot of use. Proper maintenance goes a long way to prevent oil consumption. On this engine, it had not been tuned up for many thousands of miles. The PCV system, positive crankcase ventilation system, was clogged and dumping oil into the fresh air intake. Cleaning up the PCV system, replacing the PCV valve and the air filter rectified this problem. We also performed a tune-up as well. High miles on an engine that is taken care of is not a bad thing. The better you take care of your engine, the better it will take care of you. #tuneup #sparkplugs #airfilter #pcvsystem #enginemaintenance

Old man winter has been hanging around lately. Here is a customer wondering "why does my heater not work?" We flushed the heater core, checked the heater blend doors, but still no heat. The problem turned out to be a water pump. Take note to the impeller wheel of the old one, it is a straight piece of metal. On the new impeller, there are ears on it to make the coolant flow when the shaft is spinning. So what ate the old impeller away? The coolant did. When coolant is let in too long, it becomes acidic. The acid begins to eat away at metal parts of the engine and cooling system. To prevent this from happening in your car, have the coolant replaced every three years or 50,000 miles. A little preventative maintenance can go a long way to lower the operational cost of a vehicle.

Have you ever wondered "why does my engine rattle or knock?" Here is a photo of an engine out of a Model A Ford. Just look at the simplicity of that engine! Henry Ford needed to start somewhere, and that he did. As things progressed and inventions took place, change soon flooded the automotive industry. If you lift the hood of a modern day automobile, you will see many complex items tightly fitted into a small engine bay. Some times you wonder where the engineers get all these ideas. As time goes on, this progression of ideas has kept more and more drivers from making their own repairs. So if your engine is knocking for attention, please come and knock on our door. We can help with most nearly all of the vehicles manufactured. Whether foreign or domestic, no job is to large or to small for us. #enginerepair #enginereplacement #engineknock #autoservice #oilchange #foreignrepair

"Auto Repair" in the 2000's has taken on a dimension that could not be realized until it actually happened. The Model t and Model A of decades ago could be repaired by about any one who had a basic mechanical knowledge. Today the automobile has become very complex. With the integration of electronic systems and controls, a simple screw driver and box wrench becomes almost useless when attempting a repair. Repair shops around the country are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep their shops tooled up for the modern automobile. It is our goal at Marlin's Auto Diagnostics to earn your trust as you look for a honest and reliable repair facility. Please call us today to have your vehicle checked over. #autorepair #mechanic #autorepairnearme #autoservice #carrepair #truckrepair
