Back in 2008 new car sales dropped to 10.8 million sold. Now in 2016, the numbers rose to 20.8 million new vehicles purchased. That is a serious increase. That brings the need for a lot of "auto repair shops" to step up to step up to the plate and give quality "auto repair". Not all "auto service" centers are properly trained or equipped to give quality "car repair" or "truck repair". Here at Marlin's Auto Diagnostics, our techs are trained in the industry and do understand your vehicle. So the next time you need a "mechanic" to look at your vehicle, think quality rather than cheap. Call Tom today to schedule those outstanding vehicle repairs. #autorepairshops #autorepair #autoservice #carrepair #truckrepair #mechanic

We all have heard of the term "radiator" when it comes to automobiles. Most nearly every car has one, just behind the front bumper. Radiators do need upkeep. All of them are filled with coolant. As coolant ages, it looses its corrosive protection, which can cause coolant leaks and radiator failure. You are probably wondering if all "car repair shops" can do "radiator repair"? Well we sure can! We can do a "coolant flush" to prolong the life of the radiator, the water pump and the heater core. A little "preventative maintenance" goes a long way when it comes to a "head gasket replacement" or a "heater core". The picture on the left is a new radiator. The one on the right is a close up of the core. See those little upright tubes with the fins going between them? The tubes are filled with hot coolant from the engine. The heat from the coolant is drawn out into the fins. Then the radiator fan pulls air through the fins to carry the heat out into the air. That is how it works when everything is okay. Please give us a call today to have your cooling system's performance checked over. #radiator #radiatorrepair #coolantflush #carrepairshops #radiatorflush #coolantflush #preventativemaintenance #headgasketreplacment #heatercore

Today we have a vehicle that takes us back a way in history. The owner was curious if there was a "mechanic shop" close by that would work on carburetors. So we got a request by E-mail. The boss-man's experience goes back to the mid 1980's, so yes, we can do that. Now not every "mechanic" can work on a carburetor or set ignition points, but we can! This is a 1965 with a 289 V-8 under the hood. The odometer shows 8,900 miles. It is rather fun to drive the old ones. This one is equipped with 4-wheel brake drums. Our shop can do the "brake service" on this type of brake system. And what about an "oil change"? Yes, we have the oil filter in stock for this one. Need some "alternator repair"? Yes, we can do that too. We love our customers and hope to see you soon. #mechanicshop #brakeservice #alternatorrepair #oilchange #carrepairshop #mechanic

All of us like a smooth ride on our way to work. There are times, however, that you may wonder, "why does my car shake?" At times like this, lets take a look at the tires. As you can see in the photo, the tire is what we call bald. When the tread is this low, you loose traction especially in wet conditions. Our recomendation is to get the tires replaced between 3 & 4 32nds of an inch of tread. Tread lower than this is unsafe. Remember your life is riding on your tires. If you noticed on the photo, the inside of the tire is worn worse than the outside. This means that you have worn front end items and need an alignment. Marlin's Auto Diagnostics is a "tire shop", we can get you fixed right up with new sneakers. We will also take care of that "wheel alignment" too. Call Tom today for an appointment to have your ride checked out. #tireshop #wheelalignment #carmaintenance #carshop

Last Friday many Americans were interested in seeing the "Presidential Inauguration" . So yes, President elect, Donald Trump is now the president of the United States. We have seen a lot of change over the years. The old "Presidential Limousine" has given way to the new and modern car of 2017. Here in the automotive industry, the scene has evolved as well. Here at Marlin's Auto Diagnostics, we are a progressive shop. The old black hole shop of yester-year has given way to customer friendly, bright and homelike shops of 2017. Here is a driver wondering "why do my wipers streak?" Well, how long have you been using them? Have you changed them recently? Wiper maintanence is very important to having a safe ride, especially if it is raining or snowing. Many department stores sell wiper blades. They come from a range of very cheap to very expensive. Wiper blade mounts have change from easy to install to some that are difficult to install. And then there are some drivers that use their wipers as snow and ice scrapers. This type of useage often bends the wiper arms ever so slightly. When this happens, after the blades are replaced, they still do not wipe clearly. That is where Marlin's Auto Diagnostics comes into the picture. Our technicians are trained to properly install the correct wiper blades. Not only installing the correct blade, but properly adjusting the blade to wipe clearly the fist time with out chattering. Call us today, we love to help! #wipers #autorepairnearme #autoshop #carmechanic #carinspection

We all know that when the word "transmission" pops into our thinking that the dollar signs float into our mind. That is because "transmission repair" can be very costly. So if it is so costly to repair, how about taking care of the transmission in a manner that will make it last longer? In the photograph below, you can see how pink and clear the new transmission fluid is. As a transmission wears by normal use, it becomes loaded with contaminates. As this happens, the fluid begins to wear out. This in return will significantly wear out the internal transmission parts prematurely. Our recommendation is to have your fluid changed out every 30 to 40 thousand miles. If the fluid in your transmission is clear or has a dark hue or is brown in its appearance, it is worn out. Complete fluid exchanges along with periodic filter changes (where applicable) will enhance the life of your transmission. Here at Marlin's Auto Diagnostics, we would like to help you reduce the cost of vehicle ownership by proper transmission maintenance. Call 717-273-8550 today to have your vehicle's transmission checked out today. #transmission #transmissionshop #transmissionrepairs #carrepair

Here is a set of inspection stickers that will turn on a police officers lights. Some folks have a hard time remembering when their "state inspection" is due. It comes around once a year and is right in front of the driver, so really it is not that hard to keep track of. However, we are all busy people and have lots on our mind. We send out reminders a month ahead to notify our customers that the inspection is expiring. The fine for expired stickers is approximately $125.00. The inspection program does keep the vehicles in our state in a safe state of repair. The focus should not be on the dollars it takes to do this, but rather, "Is my vehicle in a SAFE state of repair for all driving conditions?" Call Tom today for an appointment at 717-273-8550. #stateinspection #inspectionstation #autoservice #brakerepair

Winter weather is here, ice, sleet and snow. Is your vehicle ready for winter? All season tires have taken over the market. Years ago every vehicle owner would have snow tires mounted in November or December. Is this really important? The answer is yes, it is important, even on front wheel drive. Snow tires are aggressive in a biting tread design. They are safer in sleet, snow and ice than regular all season tires. They have more of a hum on dry roads, but that is better than the big bang at the time of a crash. If you are not inclined to snow tires, then you should be inclined to keeping new all season tires on for winter driving. Call us today for that tire quote, 717-273-8550, Tom will be happy to assist you! #tireshop #snowtires #frontendalignment #tiresale
