What I find interesting about the dispute between Apple and the FBI is that everyone on each side seems to believe that they are arguing "in the best interest of the public".

Transporter tech was a writer's mechanism in "Star Trek" to avoid having to use time to move crew from point A to point B. Recently I've been wondering: in a world with transporter tech, how did they ever reach a point where such tech was no longer being used as a weapon of genocide? From simply transporting enemies into an airless void to intentionally transporting part of an enemy (leaving two non-life-sustaining person parts), how would "bad people" ever have been blocked from crimes of mass destruction?

Apparently, Coca-Cola (the company) has rebranded "Coca-Cola Classic" as simply "Coca-Cola" and even labels it as "Original Formula" even though it contains high-fructose corn syrup and not cane sugar (or cocaine).
