Good cafe and brunch spot. Get some breakfast or post up and do some writing. It does get very busy at times though. I go during the slow times for food and to work.

Lots of delicious and healthy items here including a host of fresh and wonderful juices. Satsuma also caters to a lot of diets including gluten free and vegetarian options. I mostly frequent this place for breakfast/brunch but others eat here all day. It's bywater location has been so popular that they opened another location at the riverbend uptown. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. It's a great choice for a quick hangover cure!

I was in New Orleans for two days and was told to check out this little gem. The food was amazing. I had the one eyed jack which is a new spin on toast and eggs. The hot sauce they used was perfect and wasn't overwhelming. I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting.

Friendly little cafe with great chicory coffee, eggs, pancakes, and breakfast sandwiches. Vintage, local feel in this cozy cafe.

Great coffee shop with an awesome menu as well. The espresso was excellent and that is my mark for a good coffee shop. I also tried the lunch menu and was impressed with the offerings. I had a sandwich and basil gazpacho. The sandwich was not memorable but basil gazpacho was amazing. I finished my lunch with one of the fresh citrus juices being offered that day and that was delicious as well. As good as the espresso was I would stop back for the juice any time I am in the neighborhood.

I <3 this place! Every time I got lost in the Bywater I ended up here to feel better about my lack of directional sense. It was the first place I went to for a bite to eat in New Orleans and I went back almost every single day. Why? Food = bomb! Juices = bomb! Staff = bomb! The can blow me the eff up anytime!

Normally I would only say nice things about this place. The food is great. Today, however, I had some really bad service. I went there for brunch with my girlfriend. When I was asked what size coffee I wanted I said, "a large would be nice." The girl behind the counter mocked me for saying this. I have no idea why. This same girl got our order wrong, but we decided not to complain. Later my girlfriend came in from outside to get some forks and napkins and this same girl had a snide comment about her. My girlfriend was wearing her sunglasses because it was bright outside and this girl turned to two other customers and said, "she must be wearing sunglasses inside because her future is so bright." Once again I don't have any idea what we did to make her treat us like this. We tipped her 20% and were nothing but polite. It really sucks to tell someone you are taking them to a great little restaurant and then get treated like this.
