A very good article exposing hard truths regarding the old adage that managers need to lead, follow, or get out of the way.

“You fired your top talent. I hope you’re happy.” https://medium.com/@deusexmachina667/you-fired-your-top-talent-i-hope-youre-happy-cf57c41183dd

This Agile Consultancy gets it -- actually understands and appreciates what so few do! :D #happiness :-)

I like the Jim Rohn quote in this article, "Success is the natural consequence of consistently applying the fundamentals."; which is why politicians and others who just don't 'get' the principles behind Agile will also never reap the benefits possible from Agile.

Wholly agree with these assertions -- "Innovation centers" are token (non-substantive) efforts and approaches because the rest of the culture is still the command - control, restrictive culture everyone else sees. This is analogous to the adage of putting lipstick on a pig.
The greatest challenges to realizing the opportunities in this article are two-fold --
1) preserving the foundation of what got the business to this point -- if it wasn't successful in the past, you wouldn't be around here today to talk about the second point; ...
2) encourage mindsets to shift to scale and innovate into the future; because if the way you've always done things was still optimal you also wouldn't be talking about this right now.

Worth the lunch hour ... or whatever ... my opinion. :-)

Story maps and other Agile practices add lots of value ... when those who talk about them actually know how to use them. And prove that by using them as intended rather than how and what they want them to mean.

More and more people are finally catching on ... and that's a good thing (no Martha Stewart pun intended). :-)
