+Nicole Streets Machine dreams... So freaking cool! It is amazing what a small set of algorithms will conjure (just like the algorithms of which we operate).

True! If not they would wind down and stop firing (second law of thermodynamics).

I really like seeing more and more vendors shipping computers with Linux pre-installed.

Agreed, but sometimes it looks like there is a premium for it... they should be cheaper, but I'm not really seeing it.

I only ask that a snap-mirror (like apt-mirror) application is also created. If that proves true, I'm excited about Snap packages!
I personally like Google's Chrome interface. It's simple, fast, elegant and did I mention fast? Unfortunately, I don't like how locked down the Chrome OS is on a Chromebook, nor do I like its total dependence on Google. I also don't like the lack of ability to install Chrome easily on generic ...

If I can't get an Ubuntu phone in the U.S., I might just end up moving to the U.K.!
The Bq Aquaris E5 Ubuntu Phone is available to buy in Europe. It features a 5-inch IPS screen, nippy quad-core Mediatek CPU and 16GB storage.

One of those topics the world gets in an uproar over without ANY actual justification. (Sure, I know about some of the shortcuts companies tried to do in the past with unapproved crops, but it was ILLEGAL to begin with and not the fault of the technology) I'm a huge supporter of GMO technologies.
Everyone from Chipotle to the Food Babe rails against genetically modified ingredients, and laws to label GMO foods are making progress in some states. But the laser focus on GMOs is misguided, because most of the concerns people raise about them aren’t really about GMOs.

I am so glad you say that. It's such a relief! This is an area where a lack of science literacy really holds us back.

I'm a bit disappointed with their metric of 'public posts'. That is the biggest strength of Google+: the fact that I can post ONLY to people and communities I think would be interested. Personally, out of every 30-ish posts, only 1 of them is posted publicly. I had to leave Facebook because the of the stress and anxiety I had developed from being bombarded with 'stupid' posts (such as those promoting anti-vaccine views). As such, I think Google+ is far from dead.

Now, 29 more posts until my next public one... ;)

Ubuntu is an open source software platform that runs everywhere from the smartphone, the tablet and the PC to the server and the cloud.
